Het Speelhuis

On the route to what is now BRACK, in the creative Belcrum neighborhood, there was a castle of the Orange-Nassaus in the 17th century.

Het Speelhuis

At the end of Speelhuislaan there once stood an octagonal castle, especially for hunting parties. This "Speelhuis" was built by Prince Philips Willem, the eldest son of Willem van Oranje. It lay on a hill called the Konijnenberg, surrounded by walking paths in all directions.

The Speelhuislaan was used as a malie court at that time. There the nobles played the malie game, a kind of golf.
